From what I've seen you are better off if you have some logistic support like food resupply boxes at post offices and also gear swapping for different atages of the hike. Ive never done anything of this extent but thess videos should give you a good idea of what the trail is like and how to plan for it. There is also an app that gives you details on every section like maps, where to find water etc. Check for homemade wanderlust, darwin on the trail, jupiterhikes and a few other through hiker channels. Some of these people might be turbo ultralight fags and possible gear shills that constantly contradict themselves so just look out for that.
