>>2274562Here's the .gpx for greenland gap, the green flag is (near) where you park and cross the creek:
https://www.viewgpx.com/route/1g0Es7osThe route from the east (the longer one) is supposedly easier Im told. This is on the north side of the cliffs which is easier - you can climb both sides.
You should have the entire area you plan to hike downloaded to your phone in whatever app you wanna use as well as download the maps for the whole area for offline use in google maps ahead of time.
>I'll try my luck finding the secret waterfall if I find the trail you're talking abouthere's the gps coordinates of the trailhead the parking area is right off of route 28 and the trail should be pretty obvious along the creek.
From there - it is a little over 3 miles each way to what's marked "falls" on the topo map - I would save the topo map to your phone so you can see it in real time its not a currently maintained or blazed (marked) trail so it may not exist past a certain point but it was definitely a logging railroad 100 years ago - big run tributary of north fork south branch potomac river
in the area is smoke camp knob and spruce knob that you can drive to the top of for amazing views
I should mention - you will have little to no cell service most of the way between 81 and weston.
