>>2612983>trip report, asleepFar and away the most interesting and unique part of Amanita muscaria is the effect it has on your dreams. The mushroom is worth seeking out and trying for the "oneirogenic" effects alone if you're into experiencing different drugs and consciousnesses.
I fell asleep and began dreaming soon after. My Amanita-enhanced dreams were extremely vivid, more narratively-coherent, closer to base reality, longer, and more numerous, seemingly occurring one right after the other. The dreams are not any easier to remember so I unfortunately can't recall many specifics. Common limitations that you encounter in normal dreams like not being able to read, punching with the force of jelly, or driving not really working are not present, being performed like you would in the waking world. If normal dreams are closer to watching a movie, Amanita dreams are closer to living and experiencing a different life.
Most of my regular dreams involve exploring segmented physical spaces like buildings with many rooms, areas with different buildings, or exploring new spatial areas that are just past what I know as familiar. A normal dream might involve me vaguely following a neutral person through a series of differently-themed rooms in a poorly-defined building. An Amanita dream would give me full conversations with the person, navigating normal rooms, in an area and building I am familiar with and can identify.
These dreams are as intense and vivid as a DMT breakthrough but entirely based on the reality you already know. You are more likely to see your neighbor in an Amanita dream than interdimensional machine elves.
I think that's about all I've got for now. Fly Agaric season here starts in late July so I hope to get out and find some soon. I will make an effort to write proper trip reports including dream journals this year. I'll leave this thread open if there's anything else you wanted to know.
