I'm actually glad you won't go ‘innasouthernwoods’ with just a compass because clearly you lack the critical, basic, and fundamental skills needed to navigate using the earth’s magnetic fields competently. If you don't have a strong grasp on the differences between true north, grid north, and magnetic north then you shouldn't be using a compass anyway. Or a map for that matter.
