>>2253719>>2253772So, a few years back I went to a talk with Dr Rhys Jones
>pic relatedHe's a pretty well regarded Dr of animals, very well travelled as well as into the limelight a bit. Nice bloke.
He was speaking about ecology, touched on rewilding and I asked a few questions about it. The rest of the people listening weren't very engaged. After the event I had a chat with him one and one, then we went for a pint and was chatting loads about rewilding, which he's a huge advocate of. I said about the frustrations of red tape and legislation etc. He laughed and said something along the lines of "you just need to wait for an opportunity". I pressed him on it while we were having bants. He was telling me how he and several other professors around the UK are actively rewilding certain species covertly, mainly otters, beaver and boar, and went into a few stories about how they were getting away with it.
