So these are my two main chainsaws.
The bigger saw is an oleo mac. They are an italian brand. Have a few bits of other equipment from them and I must say they are great. Very reliable and great to start.
The saw is a good few years old. I say it must be at least ten years by now. Only thing I have had to have done to it is one small little thing replaced which helps oil the chain. Other than that nothing, just buy new chains every so often.
The saw is classed as a semi-pro saw. Now this is important for anyone buying a chainsaw.
there are different classes. The average chainsaw is whats called a " hobbie saw".
They only have so many hours of life, and are not really for continous work. Fine if you are only cutting down the odd limb off a tree..
now if you plan on cutting timber or felling trees on a regular basis for firewood. Then you make sure the chainsaw you buy is either a semi professional or professional classed chainsaw.
Now theres different size bars and such for chainsaws. The average user is not gonna need some massive long bar. The normal size will do you fine. Unless you are gonna be felling massive trees. And in that case unless you are professionally trained then stop and dont do it. Get a professional.
