I caught my first snook today! It was in freshwater though and not at all what I was expecting. I know they can live in freshwater, but this was a canal with no obvious access to the ocean about 10 miles away from any beach. And I caught it off a wacky rigged senko too
Can anyone give me a weight estimate? I’m guessing about 5-10lbs. Size 14 US for reference. And also what species of snook is this? I’m seeing there’s common snook, fat snook, swordspine snook, tarpon snook. They all look the same to me.
