>>1679508You should also bring tools that ensure you can fix anything that brakes. I don't carry a press, so I ask shops to use their tools. Since I am an experienced mechanic (and not a little bitch) they usually oblige. I did these ball joints after hours at a rad shop in NH. They even let us crash in their yard for the night and drank beers with us for a few hours.
Also, invest in a Haynes Manual for your vehicle. Being able to fix your own shit will save you tons of money. You never know when your alt will shit out, or when you'll need to do an oil change in a Walmart parking lot, or rebuild your carb. (I like carbs)
