I suppose if they're ok on home inspection the best route would be just use 'em in places where failure wouldn't cause danger, and see how they hold up.
Although obviously buying another decent pair would be the best solution, goddaaammit I'm not made of money. Also - if friends/gf come with me on trips wearing those they might just say 'fuck it' and buy their own proper pair. I hope.
Just gotta be careful, and I guess £15 isn't too much to spunk on crampons that might only be trustworthy on flatter paths.
