Here in Ontario, the parks service gets little to no funding from the federal or provincial government, so those day passes, campsite passes, parking passes, etc pay for every little service that the park provides.
The park I worked at last season had budget issues because of people just not paying for a day pass and just going right to the trails, the ticket is 30$, why not just pay the 13$ for your vehicle and save yourself the headache it just doesn't make sense to me.
