I read Michael Punkte Book: Last Stand about the Buffalo which was pretty nice. North of the Sun from Fred Hatfield also a good read. The Biography about Steven Rinella and Lily Raff McCaulou was also good if you interested in hunting as newbie. Both say "just do it".
For germans reader I can recommend Hans-Otto Meissner Books about the Northwest Territories in Canada (Wildes rauhes Land), sadly they isn't a English Version. Pretty solid and with a lot of historical background.
I'm looking for more good Trapper/Hunting, Fishing, Canoe exploration etc Books about North America Wilderness, especially Canada and Alaska. Anoyne?
