I still will ruck it up a mountain though, just for the memes. I've brought the fal with me to hike the AT, white mountains, and all across the UP. Never needed to use it for bears or anything, normally bears and wolves steer clear of people. The most danger I was ever in was from New Yorkers calling the rangers on me.
