I never was a pocket knife guy. I saw an ad for a benchmade mini griptilian in backpacker magazine and thought it looked pretty nice. Years later I saw one for $62.95 and thought hey why not?
I loved that knife. Whenever I saw someone else's knife I always thought "what a piece of crap" As far as I am concerned every other knife, even other benchmade models look like some redneck tacticool mess. The mini griptilian has about five different "grabby" textures that actually grab you back. It opened up so fast people always thought I had a switchblade.
I carried it around in my back pocket for 3-4 years Until I lost it at work one day. Either I must have dropped it in that fake coveralls pocket and it fell down my pants leg while working or I must have put it in an actual coveralls pocket, changed clothes and it fell out somewhere in the locker room. When I realized what happened, I turned the car around, returned to work, and grilled the guy cleaning the locker room to no avail. The next day I searched the ground where I was working. But where I work is like a huge windy beach. The ground changes every five minutes. I really miss that knife. I wouldn't carry any other knife even if it was free.

Next time I will get the orange handles (just found this:
http://www.benchmade.com/customize/)
I like the short ka-bar's with the kraton handles. But I don't like the black blades
Can any of you knife people tell me what kind of knife has an elephant head etched on the blade? Google is of no help.
