>>215398Thanks, Maybe this is where I'm going wrong, shortly after starting to fish a few years back someone told me that you should retrieve lures quite fast, I'd say my retrieves are probably medium fast. I'll slow them right down and see how that goes?
I've just bought some braid and spooled it up this evening. It's a 16lb braid, I usually use 8-10lb nylon, some thing like trilene, but because braid is so much thinner I went for the extra strength too, its my first time using braid so looking forward to it, hopefully it's not too heavy?
>>215494Thanks that's all really helpful, it all makes a bit more sense now especially the colours and water clarity.
By spinnerbaits do you mean the normally metal/holigraphic spinning lures like the dexter wedge?
Also when you say action is more important than the look of the lure what is the best way to achieve this as again all lures have different actions, so is there lure that I can buy or I already have that you could explain how to get the best action from it. I guess I'd like to have a lure that say when it's sunny for example I should use that lure and retrieve slowly with the rod tip down and stop briefly every 3 seconds?
Like I say I feel like i have no idea how to use any of my lures as I've not caught a single fish on any of them. Will be getting out this weekend again for some practice.
Pic related its a local fishing spot I fish.
