I can see how a person would feel more able to enjoy themselves by having the utility of a level surface to do things on, but at the same time, a 30cm (potentially rackety) ""table""" like that does not seem too useful to me. Though if it's more of a home comfort type feeling I can see it making sense -- I carry a tartan blanket to put on the floor of the tent just because it makes the experience more comfy in general. It's wool so I can use it for warmth too, but that's not why I carry it.
