Finally, after about 18-20 days of watering and rain showers my asparagus started sprouting. 13 groups so far. Evidently, it takes three weeks to sprout. Hopefully, they will grow enough between now and when it gets frosty to make it through the winter. I did the same thing with the patch of asparagus I have now and they did really well. I have 1,000s of seeds so I can replant all I need, in the Spring, if they don't make it.
They are so tiny and thin. The chickweed will help trap slugs away from them I'm hoping.
