Dip bait is pretty good, but a dead shiner or half a bluegill might be some of the best for channel cats and a nightcrawler won't fail you either.
Anybody ever try the dough bait for carp? I bought a jar of it a long time ago and it was kinda sweet with a strong anise smell. Didn't do shit for me, white bread balls on a treble was always the best.
