just to add, my issue is i don’t want 50 pairs of shoes.
since my previous shoes were nike running shoes, with a flat slippery bottom, i am wondering if i can get away with just regular running shoes with a less slippery bottom for the summer and fall.
i found climbing up gravely hills with them very difficult, but ankle boots seem a bit overkill for ontario day hikes.
or, if i should just buy trail runners for the warm months as well as boots for the winter (can’t i use my regular winter boots?). in that case though, i would probably be also wearing my trail runners in an urban environment since i don’t like having so many shoes. not sure if that’s bad for them.
