I've flyfished for bass. It's not easy to use sinking lines, but when you can get them to strike the surface, it's a lot of fun. My dad lives out in the country by a lake, and in the summer, the bluegill (which are a shitload of fun to fish for because they fight so hard) and the largemouth (less fun to fish for, but they do fight longer) will come to the surface to feed on a specific type of large yellow mayfly. I made a fly that imitates these insects, and spent many an evening getting hit after hit by panfish and bass.
