>>315083>Hiawatha National Forest along Highway 13Assuming you're talking about County Highway 13 as it goes through the woods near Chatham and the Rock River Canyon Wilderness, I know the area. The shitty part about that area is the clearcuts, of course, but it's getting better. The designated wilderness itself consists of a plateau in the middle (which was clearcut a few years ago) surrounded by two canyons, boh of which are lush with vegetation, and one lake (Gunpole Lake) which did NOT provide the fishing opportunities I was hoping for. There are plenty of campgrounds, but I haven't done that kind of "camping" since I was a kid.
>Mid-Central UPmeh, it's either EUP or WUP. That region is part of the Eastern UP. IMO the Western half is better; then again, it's where I live.
People, don't come to the UP unless you bring plenty of money, and don't be a faggot while you're up here. I, for one, am against increased tourism, but if yous are gonna come up here, at least enrich the local economy.
I'm a yooper and I'll be watching this thread. I'll tell you what i know about specific spots if anyone asks about them, but I won't tell you my favorite. Sorry, you gotta explore to find the best places.
