thanks for the advice. Doing it with a bow saw. climbed up and secured myself using my rock climbing harness, and lashed the branches I wanted to cut. Worked well. My neighbor saw what we were doing, and handed me his pull saw. It actually worked better than the bow. One branch nicked the garage, it was too heavy for the girl to pull away in time. Got about a third of it done. Gonna finish the top cuts, and rent a chainsaw for the base. The guy at the rental center was telling me it wouldn't be a good idea to use the chainsaw while climbing and being inexperienced, so it really showed I was correct. So far nothing damaged.
