>>1407750Well, I finished the edge as much as I want. I just used a triangle file to get a bit convex on a single side with an ever so slight back bevel. Then sandpaper up to 1500 grit. There's only a bit of tool marks left on the tight side on the heal, but I'm for function so that doesn't bother me.
Here's the first item I did as a quick test on some softer black cherry. This thing is scary sharp and is doing chip detail pretty well. It is REALLY nice having this much control over a blade. It beats trying to do this with a pocket knife by a mile.
Now, I just need to go camping again. I'm hoping for snow and ice soon, but there's been almost nothing except rain for a week now. Everything is currently mud.
