I use both, it just depends on the situation/area, but I mainly use a hammock. If you prefer hammock to tent or vice versa, then use it. Just use what you prefer, the whole tribe mentality behind hammock vs. tent is ridiculous. I do prefer hammocks for heavy/sustained rain however. Having a place to sit/cook/spread out/stand up during a downpour is pretty important to me.
