>>845632The beach is pretty shite because of how many people are usually crowding it, though beaches where it's colder are much more enjoyable because there's a lot fewer people, though the swimming ain't great. Private beaches are good too, but that kind of stuff is too rich for my blood.
Going /out/ on the sea is really fun though, I went a long time ago with a friend of my fathers, an old scientist who swore like a sailor, we visited tiny little "deserted islands" that were kind of just sandbanks with tangles of sea adapted trees growing on them. Fishing was fun, even though we never managed to catch anything. And the sky at night is beautiful because on the sea you can really get away from the terrible light pollution that goes on in the mainland.
I really ought to learn to sail myself and go out there again, but I'm too poorfag to afford a boat meant to be taken too far out to sea.
