Capitalism is the system we live under, because of unfettered Capitalism we live under a time of great inequality (if you view the world through the lens of Historical materialism, at least), racial inequality is greatly based around a historically material basis (black people had Billions of dollars worth of labor stolen from them, and not even given their citizenship until 100 years after that), and possibly horrible environmental strife ( the U.S. military (a product of capitalism and its reach into govt) and corporations being behind the majority of earths CO2 emissions). But mostly capitalism is a system that incentivizes a “fuck you, i got mine” mentality in literally everyone that lives under it, and as such all of these issues are only further accentuated by capitalisms never ending stranglehold on society.
