Mountains around Vancouver aren't even really hard since you're close to sea level. The starting point of trails in the Rockies are higher than the peaks of mountains on the coast (cept Baker). Boomers do them.
You can even drive 3/4 of the way up Cheam and they're planning to make a gondola to the top.
