Here's my tent design on paper. I've got another 3 sheets with a pile of trigonometry, the lengths of specific lines by their actual length (rather than apparent length from one side) and the net I will need to cut out of the flat tarp to then basically fold into the tent shape. The advantage of this tent will be namely that it can be set up as a tarp if the need arises (It can form a 2x2.5m tarp).
This isn't really the tent, I suppose. It's the rain fly.
I much prefer this design to copying the blade, which would have been an awkward pain in the backside which I would have likely fucked up on and wasted the tarp.
This tent will be made out of a single piece of material, so there will be minimal sewing (I've taken into account four loops for tent pole sleeves) and hopefully this will maintain the waterproof cover.
There will be two doors at either end which will consist of just a zip running from the floor to the peak on either side.
