Not a deep one just 5 or 6 feet so they won't be able to get their ATVs out.Implement some kind of notification system so you know when it happens.
Then you can confront them before they go get shovels and shit to dig out the ATV. Or if you're not one for talking just take a gun, calmly walk out from behind the bush and mag dump the shit out of the ATV. Then just walk away without saying a word. Not sure how your state works but here it would be considered your property....I'm pretty sure....
