see how it's all dry at the surface? as you water from the top, it's going to form a compacted layer of bullshit that prevents any water from reaching the roots. And not seeing any vermiculite or other amendment to prevent that.
pretty clever with the water line; though without a regulator on each of those holes (aka emitters) your going to have issues with longer runs, or having uniform amounts of water on the line.
i know i'll get roasted to hell and back posting a work in progress of my setup, but oh well. same kind of approach as you, just on a larger scale. I'm using raised beds (which i need to expand, but baby steps). each bed has a dedicated drip line (regulated to 25 PSI) and driven by a regular 1" irrigation solenoid, attached to a sprinkler controller which lets me automate the watering.
