Id highly recommend you guys grab a healy hammock. you can still see the stars, and no scorpions/snakes/spiders/mosquitos/noseeums will crawl on you while you sleep. also ive found that raccoons wont mess with you if you keep some of your snack in there. its a very thin shield, but it's enough to keep out lots of shit.
just used one of these on a trip in the 10,000 islands and it was super cash. insanely easy to set up with sticks or a tree branch and becaue of its shape simply laying a tarp directly on top of it when it rains works just fine
