I had about a pint of whiskey in me at the time and it made me brave (or stupid) enough to do it multiple times. The crowds on the river side were pretty impressed with me and treated me like a rockstar. I did get pretty beat up on the lava rocks that littered the base of that waterfall but I didn't feel a thing thanks to my belly full of whiskey. Also wear good water shoes or old sneakers you don't mind getting wet. I didn't and got my feet chewed up by the lava rocks.
