otherwise some sort of breatheable shirt... motorcycle jerseys work well, lightweight and long-sleeve. Fairly inexpensive. Hockey jerseys aren't terrible either. Chest protector of your choice over (or under) that. Sturdy pants are fine for what it sounds like oyu'll be doing. I prefer over-the-boot adventure pants to the in-the-boot MX-style pants. Either of those are designed for knee guards/braces and moto boots, so they tend to fit better and not snag on stuff (velcro closures at the bottom of the over-the-boot pants to keep them tight) like jeans will. Also hold up better to accidental contact with hot exhaust parts.
