Hey guys, I've run into a predicament of sorts. I moved into a new home last winter and included in the estate was the horror of pic related. Since it's a rhizomatic plant, it's difficult to dig up, and has sent "runners" everywhere, even underneath the cement walkway and behind the foundation cover (trailer home converted to permanent), as well as about 40 feet around the perimeter of the foundation cover.
Is there any real way of getting rid of this absolute menace outside of digging up everything, churning the dirt, soaking in commercial weedkiller, and then churning more? I've pulled up new growth once a month and try to take all the root I can with it, but it's growing into the roots of my desirable plants, making it impossible to get rid of without buggering up the entire small garden.
Any ideas guys?
