Been starting to get more into outdoors. Got some friends to take me out and show me what they know. Ordered some John long books, and putting together a sport climbing/top rope kit.
So far my list is
>70m dynamic rope>10 12cm quick draws>2 17cm quick draws>4 locking carabineers>2 60cm nylon slings>1 120cm nylon sling>1 240cm nylon sling>tarp for rope>2 wire gate carabineers >30m of 7mm accessory cord, for prussicks and shitDo all of my climbing in NY/Canada. Gunk's, dacks, mount nemo
Any general pro tips for a newbie? I'm afraid of overlooking the basics and killing one of my friends. I've been outdoors a lot and have lead and cleaned route with my friends guiding but don't feel ready to be out and do it alone.
