There was only one party on the route when we arrived and their leader had almost reached the top of the first pitch. We got our gear sorted and then waited for their follower to reach the anchor. After some discussion, the other party decided to bail due to the poor air quality and rapped down as we ascended the pitch.
The first pitch was 5.2 slab into a 5.4 hand crack, and there was a solid tree to use for the anchor. The weather was just about perfect as we started the climb, and the smoke was only a minor inconvenience.
