I got a 500 for my ultralight rod and i sould have got a 1000. the 500 is crazy small, to the point where a 1000 is still tiny but holds more line. my 500 is spooled with 110yds of mono but really needs to be taken down to 90 or so. the 1000 can hold 110 perfectly so you don't need to cut any off new spools when you buy line. this reel is insanely smooth and nice for $30. i'm actually gonna pick up a 2500 for my medium rod i like it so much. it feels and casts like a $60 reel.
