I had just returned to the trailhead on my longest overnight trip yet. I was proud of myself and exhausted from the hike. It was a truly beautiful experience and I had been completely alone. I put my pack into my car and sat down to rest for a minute and reflect. A small Indian woman who looked to be about in her late 60's walked up to me and asked where I had gone/what I had done, and then asked me: "Wouldn't that have been more friends?"
"Uh... I had a great time"
"Yeah, but wouldn't you have had more fun with people to share it with?"
Then she talked about hikes that she had done which were much more impressive. She knew what she was doing.
I did have a great time on the hike but damn man, she didn't have to do that
