>>253103>>253104>>253105Just remembered another bike-- this is Tae-gon's Ninja 250R.. resting in his Yurt at the Sandfire Roadhouse.
Unfortunately, the two of them had been staying at the most remote Roadhouse in Australia after hitting a kangaroo. Fortunately he was only doing about 40 km/h at the time, and it was mostly just fairings that needed replacing, although there was one or two new parts he needed replaced to get the bike rolling again.
When I was there, he'd actually just scored a used car for cheap (free?), and since it didn't have a trailer, he was taking out the passenger seat and etc. so that he could fit the bike inside and ride it up to a mechanic at Broome. Ha!
A lot of Adventure riders talk about how great it is to go on a ride with like-minded mates. And this was a time when I actually met someone like that ...there I was, on the opposite side of Australia from Sydney, making sushi rolls for dinner with a Korean 40yo 'forever alone' type guy with a shitty relationship history like mine, with a shitty employment history like mine, doing the solo around-AU thing on a cheap bike. It's the sort of thing that makes a long-duration camping trip an incredible thing...
