>>1665077I figured you already had a rod and reel. You might need that.. if you’re going for panfish get a UL fiberglass preferably with a noodle tip. It’s usually cheaper to buy a combo. Buy some 2 pound suffix ice mono to spool it with, its $3 a spool. For lures I mainly stick with tungsten jigs. If you’re just getting started you only need a couple. Get an orange one, a pink one, white, and chartreuse. I preferred those colors in that order. Your bead head nymphs will work but id save those for shallower water. I’ve tied a few ice flies myself and no matter how big of a bead or lead wraps they never sink as quick as you would like. Second to tungsten jigs I like using rattle jigs/spoons. The small kasmaster ones have worked the best for me. With any of those I always tip the hook with a spike or two. Don’t have much confidence in plastics yet
