I recommend a 1x18650 with built in charging. That way it is easy to upgrade the battery (common format) and you don't need to get a charger. Typically this generation of slim 1x18650 lights are around 1,000-1,3000 lumens, on the floody side (if you want throw you need a larger reflector), and range from $40-$100 depending on brand and features.
