I was out collecting plant samples so I could compress them and put them in a plant book I was making. I drove on technically public property but the entire area around it was private property and there's a radio tower or something up there so I was expecting someone to pull up in their truck and block my way any minute. I was in my car driving on this dirt road and I found a switchback that I could get some really nice Coyote Brush that was flowering. So I hike past these bushes and there's this little flat grassy space and I look down and see a dead black bear wrapped in carpet. This thing was probably a few months dead and I wtf'ed hard since there's no black bears around here. I didn't have a camera and this was just before camera-phones were available. As I was hiking back to my car, I see this weird porn DVD. At that moment I swore I could almost hear a banjo playing like in Deliverance so I promptly got right the fuck out of there. It was a good sample though so definitely worth it.
