I cannot stand hiking. It's horrible every time I am forced to do it. I sweat like crazy, get tired and sore, always have to look out for all the roots on the ground, feel like dying on inclines, feel like I am literally going to die on declines, get uncomfortably hot or cold depending on the season, get swarmed by bugs, cross too many people on most hiking trails, and constantly get yelled at for going to slow. All for what? A view that isn't much than the ones from the road?
I prefer to do other things in nature. For example I like fishing, cooking and eating. Camping can get uncomfortable but is still miles better than hiking. Flat paved trails aren't too bad either as long as we don't walk too far.
The next time I am asked to go hiking in the woods I am going to say no and play my video games instead.
