>>490919Stay away from the gortex OP. I bought the exact pair you have in mind. On my first hike in them (6 mile dayhike to break them in) I realized it was a mistake. It was like wearing two dutch ovens as shoes. My feet got hot and stayed hot. My feet started sweating (as feet do when they are baking). I know gortex is suppose to let water vapor escape but these gortex boots sure as hell didn't. My feet felt like they were being steamed. These boots are now winter/snow use only, a task at which they excel.
I ended up getting a pair of Keens for my Hiking Boots but I wear a pair of regular moabs as my dailys (pic related)
