Where I live it gets cold. I don't want to get into brands but features. Mine has a nylon shell on the outside and it's rain resistant. The inside is a fleece type cloth throughout and in the pockets (choose your stuffing nylon or down). Features you want are elastic cuffs up in the sleeve and an elastic waste band that snaps shut. You want the front zipper to zip up then seal with a velcro flap. I would get a hood but the least, what I have, is a nylon fleece lined hood stuffed in the collar. It's perfect because I wear a beanie. Next is vents. I have zippered vents in the arm pits and a sort of long one along the back, almost shoulder to shoulder, that's flapped. These vent excess heat, sweat is bad. A plus is having the zippers that have a fob or whatever hanging off them, but not to long, to grab with gloves.
