The bedding bag on top was really great early on when temps were in the -20 to -30C range but once the winter became mild as hell in March and rain showed up more often than snow it became a problem, its water resistant not water proof so I'd have to pack away the sleeping bag and pads every day. Going to make my own after this trip in Xpac or something of the like that you can seam seal, add a built in sit function to it and make it usable as a bivvy bag in a pinch. For 500g its a real boon not having to stuff a -30C bag into a stuff sack, deflate then roll your sleeping pad up etc, you save maybe 20 minutes a day and some very numb fingers by avoiding fiddling with straps and buckles.
