Did 20 miles one day with a peak heat of 104 F, brought two gallons of water with me and drank almost all of it. Saw all kinds of neat critters, hawks, rattlesnakes, and some gila monsters
Best desert /out/ memories were from February 2021. I spent every weekend that month wandering through some wilderness areas in SE New Mexico trying to shoot a javelina (never did, but found some skulls and encountered lots of coyotes). Basically got to larp a bunch with my AR. Pic related is from one of my days out there.
>>2737214I had plans to do a multi-day backpacking deal in Death Valley, but COVID stuff screwed all of that up. I've got two young kids now, so going out on a multi-day wilderness adventure won't be in the cards for a while, but I hope to get there one day.
