I bought all this shit to try and catch some trout with my spinning rods in a trip to Colorado. I've got some small inline spinners, size 8 egg hooks, size 10 egg hooks, size 12 trebles, egg sinkers, small swivels, beads, small cranks, bubble floats, power bait, power bait dip, 2 lb fluorocarbon leader, and some dry flys and nymphs.
Any advice on how I should fish this shit or anything else recommended? I'm hoping to do lake and river fishing (from the shore). I'm thinking about getting some mouse tails and small jigheads too.
I'm really wanting to try the nymphs in the river, and my plan is to rig mainline (10 lb braid and 6 lb fluoro on each rod respectively) with a bubble float filled about halfway with water, onto a swivel, then about 3 to 6 feet of fluoro leader, then the fly. For the nymphs I may add a small split shot a couple feet from the top of the leader. And my plan is to cast upstream and let the fly drift. Would that work?
