>>1117026The best water container is without doubt a stainless steel one. Aluminium ain't bad either and titanium if you can afford it. Essentially you want to be able to collect your water and boil all in the same container, it removes the need for extra pots and pans etc. I would steer away from anything where the lid is not fully removable with ease, as anything not metal, rubber seal included will melt in the fire.
The ultimate canteens are probably the ones self reliance outfitters sell, as both have nesting cups which will save a nice bit of room in your pack. There is Chinese imitations on eBay and amazon and they seem to be decent enough quality.
