In surveying we use something like pic related for larger property fly overs. If it’s an open area we can attach hardware that can scan the ground a give accurate heights of the objects we are scanning. Gets a little out of wack when you try and get small things like height of a sidewalk and things like that but they are only going to keep getting better and better.
What I find hilarious is the non licensed surveyors advertising drone surveys at a low cost because they think they can just buzz a property quick and send off a few files without setting any ground control what so ever.
