Moving through the woods with it is just fine. If you've set it at a good height on your back your draw will be ok and you won't have to worry too much about head room going under branches.
The way I set it on my hip isn't how I'd take it out on my hip. When I use a hip quiver going out I use one that goes from my bow arm shoulder and hangs at my string arm side, then tie a sash around my waist around the straps of the quiver. That holds it steady, but I make sure my arrows are facing more forward instead of out as I like them else they tend to catch on things.
